EXPERTS

Higher Education Reform Experts

Professional development of academics, teachers, students and staff of HEIs is a key objective of the Erasmus+ Programme, as the knowledge and skills of these target groups are critical for the successful implementation in Russia of the Bologna Process principles, decisions and tools that ensure international competitiveness of Russia’s higher education and its standing within the EHEA.  In this context HEREs play a very important role, as it is their central goal and function to assist HEIs in creating an environment conducive to supporting the acquisition of such skills and to act as drivers of a needed change.

Given the long and successful history of Russian HEIs participation earlier in Tempus projects, and currently – in Erasmus+ projects, a team of most active HEI academics and administrators has been formed that can act as methodologists and trainers for their peers. From this team a group of experts has been selected that now constitutes a pool of HEREs.

Hence the central role of the HEREs team is to promote the Erasmus+ Programme and contribute to the HE modernization process and discourse both at own universities, on the regional level and nation-wide.

To this end the experts participate in thematic workshops and international events to acquire a new learning that they disseminate, providing consultations and learning opportunities for their peers and for stakeholders on issues that have a critical importance for HE modernization. Besides initiating and organizing diverse events at own universities and on the regional level, they perform action-based research on issues relevant for the EHEA consolidation and for Russian HE modernization and share its findings with the HE community by means of publications in professional journals and presentations at different events relating to HE development.
